About

The Artist

My personal tagline, “It’s not just a hobby. It’s an obsession,” represents the seriousness of the standard in which I hold myself. A standard that only continues to rise. Procuring experience and knowledge is a limitless path dotted with sacrifices. I am largely a self-taught, self-disciplined artist and designer. Most of what I learned was through my own desire to create beautiful things. But it goes further. My dream is to incorporate these skills into a business and entrepreneurial environment and one day leaving a legacy behind. It builds now, one step at a time. Welcome to Novure Youth.

I am Alyn Tran, a student currently attending Kendall College of Art & Design in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I am expected to graduate in 2013 with a BFA in Digital Media. I have an obsession with creating androgynous humanoids and cute animal characters while exploiting chemical colors in ways that push the digital medium. I have a passion for painting and design as well as music and literature. I hope that your trip to my site has been to your viewing pleasure. Please feel free to contact me directly.

The Vision

To enlighten and inspire our youth and future generations beyond the possibilities of intense creative willpower and passion.

The Mission

Celebrating the freedom of revolutionary youth, as manifest our discontent in visually striking la sape (style), art, and music. Conjuring the spirit of the the Congolese sapeurs. Igniting a revolution within the mind and soul during a time when multiple modes of expression have become oppressed and muzzled.

The Story

“Crimson blood trickled down the center of his forehead, slowly sinking into the harsh contours of his aged and weathered face, dried in patches on his rugged chin. Ichors overflowed the ducts in the corners of his eyes like the tears of the gods… Or perhaps they were the tears of the surrendering Devil himself. Elder Faust heaved; his head held low and his aging body slumped beside the sword he pierced into the painted earth. Even his stocky build wavered as he struggled to grasp every precious breath left within his dried lungs, vision slowly fading from his reach, his mind leaping back and forth the planes of consciousness. His opponent stood before him, an egregious grin stretched ear to ear. The inhuman blackened form raised its scythe, pausing momentarily before Elder Faust; it’s massive crescent blade gleaming under the full moon. Time slowed or even came to a halt. Elder Faust raised his eyes upon his death sentence, his divine raven wings calmly and neatly arched around his back, conceding defeat. His heavy eyelids closing…”
